Cloth Diapering

Cloth diapers is a subject that has been discussed and something that i myself was considering on doing...
> The cloth is soft and delicate to the baby's skin.
> Lesser chance of rash.
> Out here they use the cloth diapers and a waterproof chaddi/diaper outside.
but the outer pant/panty costs approx $17 each, which i personally feel is too expensive..
> Moreover, washing and drying the cloth is gonna be really tough... as most of our babies are due almost in Fall/Winter.
> Cloth diapers are good to use in the afternoons, especially during summer.
> Also, u can use it more often in the first 3months, when baby will mostly be in the Crib (confined area - not moving around as much).
> Diapers are easy to use and throw.. Pampers is a gr8 brand for newborns.
and with all the other issues of your own back ache, your vagina healing, your body changes, getting baby to BF, burp, sleep, colic.... diapering is something u dont want to fuss with... jus use disposable and be easy on yourself.
> Disposable diapers keep the baby dry - and they sleep better - or else baby will get up and cry each time he/she is wet...

I use this product and am thoroughly satisfied.

using a wet cloth to wipe diaper area between changes is very good. cut up an old cotton dupatta or a receiving blanket ( or an old onesie) that's not in use into hanky size squares. put them in a commercial wipes container (empty one) Fill a squirt bottle with water and keep near the changing table.

I use homemade contour diapers with proraps waterproof diaper covers. (daytime use)
Snappi diaper fastener
Bum genius AIO 3.0 (nighttime use, and short trips like grocery, short trip to malls etc)
Most of these products I purchased online. My MIL stitched contour diapers from the diaper cloth we had got from India, I bought 4 proraps and a snappi from thanksmama.com
after every pee I wipe my baby's bottom with a wet washcloth and let it airdry. after a poop, I use a wet washcloth first and then finish off with a baby wipe, before diapering again.
My stock is: 14 contour diapers, 4 prorap covers, 6 BG.

I'd say don't buy anything that is plastic....baby's skin is very delicate, and anything that wont let it breathe will just lead to diaper rash which can be pretty awful (learnt it the hard way ) Pee and poop can be very acidic, and if not separated away from the skin RIGHT away, can cause very bad diaper rash
go with normal disposable diapers for regular use for at least the first 6 months...(you can have the baby wear one of these"cloth diapers" for short periods of time ie: 1/2-1 hour....but make sure to clean the baby as soon as he/she pees/poops
